Brand Ethos & Understanding the Client

Kassthetics, a haven for Permanent Makeup (PMU) and Cosmetic Tattooing, emerged in 2022 with a mission that truly resonates: to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone can freely embrace their authentic beauty.

Kassandra, the leading lady behind the brand, is not only a skilled Registered Nurse but also a Permanent Makeup and Brow Artist with a passion for excellence. Her vision is to empower clients to enhance their natural beauty, fostering self-confidence every step of the way.

The studio is dedicated to cultivating a safe and inclusive environment where ALL individuals,  Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ community members, can freely express their authentic selves and embrace their divine beauty.

Personal Brand Goals: The Kassthetics Experience

Kassandra found me when looking for a San Diego personal brand photographer and was looking to capture the essence of what she does, along with the different core pillars of Kassthetics. Our initial conversation revealed the following messages and key points:

• Blend LGBTQ+ inclusivity into her brand identity
• Show up as best self and enhancing natural beauty
• Medical and aesthetic expertise
• Mind, body, and wellness intertwined — yoga, tarot, internal healing
• Radical acceptance and bad-ass goddess energy

The Creative Process

To achieve the above elements, we brainstormed creative ways to incorporate female empowerment and radical acceptance, ideas for bad-ass headshots (in a hot pink suit, no less), and LGBTQ+ elements — and the idea of incorporating beautiful rainbow light emerged.

Kassandra wanted these colors to be an integral part of her brand photography, celebrating the uniqueness of every client who walks through her studio’s doors.

With Kassandra’s vision in mind, I crafted the Creative Directive, shot list, and timeline for the day so that her personal brand photography would mirror the heart and soul of Kassthetics. We knew that every photo should reflect the brand’s dedication to empowerment, self-expression, and beauty enhancement.

Permanent Makeup Brand Photography

For the Permanent Makeup (PMU) and Cosmetic Tattooing side of Kassthetics, we decided to focus on the intricate details of Kassandra’s work. Microblading, lip blush, and eyeliner tattooing were captured in stunning detail, showcasing the artistry and precision that goes into every procedure.

To infuse LGBTQ+ elements into the photography, we creatively implemented beautiful rainbow light. This not only added a captivating visual element to the images but also served as a powerful symbol of diversity and inclusivity. It was essential for Kassandra to communicate that Kassthetics is a safe space where everyone is welcome.

Being a skincare product photographer in San Diego, I understand the importance of highlighting the transformational power of esthetician and eyebrow grooming services and. We captured close-ups of radiant skin, eyebrows, and lips, showcasing the natural beauty that Kassthetics helps clients embrace.
